F40 Motorsports is proud to offer this very special 1932 Ford Hi Boy Roadster Hot Rod Black with Red Interior Winner of the second Bruce Meyer Hot Rod Preservation Trophy in 1998. Class winner at the Grand National Roadster Show in 1998. This is an original all steel 1932 Ford Roadster, which was located in storage in Phoenix, Arizona. It was built by expert craftsmen and painstaking detail. The frame front was boxed and an original A front crossmember was installed. The front axle is an old dropped and drilled 32 with 39 spindles and 40 brakes. The rear axle is a 40 Ford with and early Culver City Halibrand quickchange center section. The wheels are 40 Ford 16 x 4.5 with 42 habcps and trim rings. The body has a filled cowl vent, shaved door handles and the windshield is chopped properly at 3 1/8 inches. The superb scarlet rolled and pleated interior was completed by Richard Baskin, located in Fresno, CA and pinstriping was done by Herb Martinez. The engine is an exquisitely balanced 46 Ford flathead V8, bored and stroked to 284 ci. It has a Merc crank, Jahns racing pistons, a strong Iskenderian 400 Jr. cam, Navarro heads and is topped with a very early, rare, numbered Tattersfield intake with Stromberg 97 carburetors. A “button” flywheel backs up to a 40 Ford column shifter gearbox, the steering column and wheel are both 40 Ford. The wonderfully simple instrument cluster is from a 1936 Oldsmobile. The unique handbrake setup is an underdash 50 Ford unit. All stainless throttle linkage, fuel and oil lines, the exhaust headers and custom ‘lakes’ plugs, the front shock mounts are superb as are the tapered cooling tubes. The ripple shocks and exhaust tips are very slick. Every element of the car which could be fully chromed or polished, has been, including the rear axle and the exhaust. This hot rod is not just a show winner, it is great to drive and stunning to see.
